    Unhappy Default Values...

I am a bit of a newbie to MS Access and I am wondering how to set a field in a table to have a default value, even when the record has been updated.
I am using an ASP upload script which enables the user to insert multiple files from one page. The problem being when one of the file fields is left blank and a blank value is entered into the db and the default value of 'empty' is removed. (I am needing this default value for a different script)

Basically, what I am trying to do is specify in Access that if the field is blank to assign a value of 'empty' to it.

Any ideas anyone? Any help is appreciated.

You could use your FORM processing page to check if each field contains a value. If it does, use that value, if not then us "" (or null).
