    Data types for long articles

Is there a limit as to how many characters a text type entry in a MySQL database can store? I would like to build a site that hosts long (1000+ word) articles.

    Thanks,
    Matt

yes, there's a limit. TEXT can hold up to 65,535 characters. if you need more than that, use MEDIUMTEXT, which can hold 16,777,215 characters (e.g. 16MB).
