    IIS Metabase

I'm in the unenviable position of needing to restore an IIS metabase from Backup tape to resolve a problem.

Can anyone tell me where on the hard drive the metabase is stored? I've found a few useful articles about how to change it's location but none mention the default location.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Even better, does anyone know of a "IIS Metabase for Beginners" tutorial (or similar)?

    Much appreciated

There's a number of articles and links at www.iisfaq.com regarding backup and restoration of IIS.

The default location of the Metabase file is:
    C:\Winnt\System32\Inetsrv\metabase.bin

    Hope this helps.

Cheers Shane - I remembered about IISFAQ shortly after I posted, your answer was spot-on. I was just too caught up in other stuff to post again.

PS - Nice to get a reply from someone from your hometown
