    layers...please help...

I've been trying to figure out how to work w/ layers. I want something similar to the way this web page is laid out www.hrgreen.com I use dreamweaver for designing most of my web site, incase that makes a diff. in how you'll explain it to me.

I know this probably is an easy question, but I am still pretty new @ web design & I'm self taught and only do web pages in my spare time so any help would be great!

    Thanks!!!

Well firstly, to achieve some like the link you posted, you dont need to do anything with layers.

In fact that site was done with some simple tables.

What gave you the impression you needed to use layers for anything contained on that site?

    Cheers, Glen

Take a look at this thread:
    http://www.sitepointforums.com/showt...ted+and+tables

It gives you code that will allow you to have a border around your TABLE like the site you posted.

    Kinda off topic....

Any idea if netscape will ever support the border tag and the advanced border tags that IE supports?

There is no border tag. I think you're referring to the border attribute of CSS? If so, I believe Netscape 6.0 is pretty close to compliancy with the CSS standard.s

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I am referring specifically to the bordercolor, bordercolorlight, and bordercolordark attributes of the table tag.

Ah...those are strictly proprietary HTML constructs created by Microsoft. They're not in the HTML spec and are definately not in the CSS spec. So I would say no.
