    Small dropdown problem....

    Hello,

    I'm trying to finish this last bug at http://www.cwwebs.net/bc2007/index.html

    The bug appears only in Explorer 6. You will notice there are dropdowns on the main yellow buttons at the top. All the dropdowns work except for the "Other Topics" link at the very right side.

    Anyone know the problem?

    Also one other small problem I see in the validation of the CSS is that there are 3 question marks before the html declaration...., like this....
    ???html {
    margin : 0;
    padding : 0;
    }

    But those are not there in the CSS file when I edit it....for some reason the validation is adding the question marks....why is that?

    thanks!

    Validate your html first, save you css file as ASCII (without Byte Order Mark)

    Hello and thanks Dan_A...

    I have corrected the CSS bom problem I believe ( I am using Expression Web) and corrected for most part the code errors....except there are still 2 errors coming up on the search image submit button, complaining about the width and height....I have fixed this in the code for sometimes Expression Web is quirky as hell and the server wont update the code for awhile in the browser. But I dont think these errors would cause the dropdown not to work, in my experience.

    Any ideas now about the dropdown?

    thanks!

    Not sure about that because I can't enable javascript but I think that you should set left to 0 (for ie6)
    in .alert and #nav li:hover ul#tother-ul (rather than auto)
    You may also have to set top in #nav li:hover ul#tother-ul

    Hi,

    Add these styles to the end of the ie only styles.

    Code:
    #nav li.sfhover ul#tother-ul {
            left:auto;right:-84px;top:23px;
    }
    #tother a.first-level  {position:absolute;}
    IE doesn't like left and right specified at the same time on absolute elements. There are also some other bugs triggered with the methods you were using and the easiest way was to set the final anchor to absolute as it cured a bug with the width. It should make no difference to the appearance.
