    It was the first I laid eyes on. And many people were pleased with it ... so I thought I'd try it. Wasn't love at first sight, but we get along well now

    I love Wordpress first because as a programmer, on my own sites, it's as easy to modify as SMF forum software is. The overall coding structure is very professional and easy to figure out.

    On the other hand, I can put an awesome blog together for my hosting clients in minutes with Wordpress and my stash of themes and plugins.

    Blogs and backlinks...

    One use of my blogs is to make my own backlinks to my main website. I would put up a few more if just for that reason. I'm a bit of a newbie, but I'm of the opinion that the more links I can get back to my main site, the better. Is there any pitfall to me creating my own links like this? When I post to my blog, I have a signature block that creates the link, as well as a few permanant links with text ads down the right column, that will never change.
