Importing a database

I'm working on a site for my class reunion and am looking for a better way to manage the class registry at
http://www.northern-pine.com/1982/registry.shtml
If you have a moment, please take a look at the page and feel free to offer up some suggestions! The page contains classmate information - names, email addresses, mailing addresses, phone #s, current stats, etc. I'm wondering if I could put the info I have into a database (before it gets any larger) and have that info automatically pulled in to create a page or pages based on what a web site visitor might be looking for. Someone might want to see who's registered with a last name beginning with A-F, for example, or may want to try to find a specific name. Does anyone have suggestions on how I might accomplish this?

I use PHP to do this. Went there. Quite a long site. Submit your site for review if you like.

well i'm trying to create a chatroom for my site, also i'm trying to make a picture gallery....
