    Getting Mongrel to run on windows

    Wondering if anyone can give me a hand here.

    I followed the instructions here
    http://mongrel.rubyforge.org/

    and then here
    http://mongrel.rubyforge.org/docs/win32.html

    here is the cmd line instruction I used
    Code:
    mongrel_rails service::install -N myapp \ -c C:\HTDOCS\myapp -p 4000 -e production
    That installed myapp as a service (I can see it in the services console)

    However ... when I try to run
    Code:
    mongrel_rails service::start -N myapp
    I get this error
    Code:
    ** Ruby version is up-to-date; cgi_multipart_eof_fix was not loaded
    ERROR RUNNING 'service::start': Plugin /service::start does not exist in category /commands
    Now ... I'm able to start the service from the services console
    but when I go to http://localhost:4000 or even http://0.0.0.0:4000 my app does not load. I get an error page.

    Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

    I've found mongrel to work well on Windows systems. XP, Vista and 2003. The part of your script that I would question is:
    Code:
    -c C:\HTDOCS\myapp
    Ruby is case sensitive (even though most Window systems are not). I think that code should all be lower case:
    Code:
    -c c:\htdocs\myapp
