    Pull Down Menu Contents

Hi All I would like to know how to populate the fields of a second pull down menu depending on the choice made in the first pull down menu (on the same page).

For example: the first menu has choices such as cookers, fridges, microwaves, dishwashers etc and the second menu will have make/model choices.

These choices will be used to make entries into a database which can be searched by and displayed for another user at a later time (not sure if that's relevent or not)

Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks in anticipation

if you want to do it without submitting the page after selecting the item in first menu (and this is how the users would expect it to work). You'll have to use JavaScript and Ajax (along with whatever server side language you are using).

Hi again - I think I've found part of the code I'm looking for under "chained select boxes" at

    http://www.dhtmlgoodies.com/index.html?page=ajax

Hope this helps if anyone else finds themselves travelling down this route.
