Hosts with HEAVY DUTY Spam protection..

Are there any hosting companies that use an Enterprise strength SPAM solution such as IronPort?

We have 3-4 business websites and spam, especially within the last 6 months, has become a tremendous problem. At least 100 spam emails a day are being delivered.

Spam filters do not solve the problem - they simply put some percentage of spam in a folder, often genuine emails, and we still have to go through it manually.

Do not mind paying a premium for the hosting. Any hosts that offer HEAVY DUTY spam protection? Please advise.

IronPort etc. still function the same way, you're always going to get false positives and have to go through them, unless you want to miss out on mail. It's impossible for any solution to be 100% perfect. If you're in the UK then I can recommend someone who uses IronPort and offers email filtering.

I've been part of an organization that put in IronPort. The difference is night and day. On occassion, maybe one email a month of spam message gets through. Not a single genuine email blocked. It stops the spam at the organization gateway (inbound), none of the users ever see any of it.

Is that 100 AFTER the ones that are blocked in the spam filter or what?

Frankly, I get hundreds of letters a day on my various sites, and the spam filter holds 30-40 pieces of junk mail with better than 99% accuracy. My host has a standard WHM/cPanel/Spam Assassin configuration for our VPS setup. With a few minor tweaks, I'm getting no more spam than I did with a dedicated email provider that had all the bells and whistles.

I don't think there's any such thing as the perfect spam filter. You will always want to comb the mail that's been captured to see if there are mistakes (there always will be).

Depending on how many mail boxes you need, try www.SecuraHosting.com and ask them about their email filtering services.

Indeed, current cPanel configurations employ the latest SpamAssassin and, with proper configuration, that ought to do a fine job with spam.

Does your current host use any current rbl list inside the mail configuration? If not ask them to add them, they will help a great deal.
