I'm not sure if this is a question that has been asked before or if it's in the right forum. I have purchased several Sitepoint books and find them very easy to learn and go through. I was wondering if there are any plans to release a book on ActionScript as it's an area I have played around in and would like to learn more.
I know JavaScript is very similar to ActionScript so i think I will be purchasing the Simply JavaScript book (plus i want to learn it aswell), I was just wondering if there were any Flash books in the pipeline as all the other books around seem to be alot harder to follow.
Learning JavaScript will definitely give you a leg up on ActionScript.
SitePoint published "The Flash Anthology", which largely focused on ActionScript. The material in that book is now somewhat out-of-date. The book wasn't a great success for us, so we don't have any immediate plans to publish another ActionScript title; however, with all the attention that Flex and AIR (both of which are also based on ActionScript) are getting these days, we may reconsider soon.
Thanks Kevin. I hope you do consider a new book for ActionScript especially seeing how SitePoints new books seemed to be received lately. In the meantime I'll go through the JavaScript book and adapt what I learn from that.
