    PHP Application Visualizating / Diagramming

Who does it? Is it worth doing? how do you do it? and tell me more...

I've got Visio here which I've been playing with for the last half an hour (mainly to show how a network looks), but I thought it could be quite a useful visualization tool for php applications. The problem is, I'm not really sure where to start. Do I have a diagram showing every single page and what it's associated with? or should I start with a basic run down showing the general flow of the application?

Any advice on this would be much appreciated? Some example diagrams/visualizations would be great too. (doesn't have to be visio).

    Cheers!

I'd rather do it on paper really, but yeah planning it out keeps your organized, especially for projects with lots of features and apps. Also very helpful for DB work.

Also, usually I just do some kinda like, text diagram, writing what each file will do, connected to which parent file, kinda like a web.

Unless it's something small, I don't think you should get into something without a plan at the very least.

Even if you just listed off some things, you may quickly learn "oh, well that would also need to do this..." and stuff like that. I don't think you particularly need to put it into a diagram form - I guess that's for those who are visual learners

You could try the uml diagrams, not sure if visio has them, and sketch out the areas of functionality for a site with the use case diagrams. Break it down from there.

Just a tip abalfazl, it's best not to say "Hello my friend!". That's usually what spam emails say on the first line - thanks for your input though.
