    phpBB 2 auto loging in

I am running a site and in the members section you can access a forum (phpBB 2 RC 2) and since the user has already logged in i wish to autoomatically log the user into phpBB 2. The user ID, username and password are stored in a session and the phpBB 2 account for the user already exists (created when user signs up to the site). I was wondering if you have any ideas how i could get this to work.

I have posted on the phpBB 2 board and had no useful response in days. I know how much more helpful you people are here so posting with much hope

Thank you everone, it was worth a try lol

[1] I imagine phpBB stores the username and password in a cookie on the user's machine. What you could do is look at the source code that sets the cookie and set a cookie in the exact same way so that phpBB will use that when it is called

[2] I think it stores sessions in the database, so look at how the sessions are created and you can create them manually

    thanks.

I have managed to do it another way. I looked at the login form and then i copied the login script. Since the username and password are normally enetered in the form i just changed this to deal with the username and password in the session instead and added the part of the login script in the index. I put my login check code on the header so that it checks on every page so links to other forum parts should work ok too .
