why photography?

Many different reasons. It depends on the subject.

I take photos of my kids for memory, I take photos of man-made landmarks and architecture because of the beauty and complexity of it, I take photos of nature because nature trumps man-made 10 folds.

I love photography because it is an art all its own. I like the randomness, the surprise of something you think you are capturing at the moment, then when you look at it later can be something different entirely - usually for the better. With digital, you can then have even more creative control in the "digital darkroom". That's where one can express even more creativity.

I guess I just love the ability to capture a moment in time and go back to it whenever I want to. It helps to sustain fond memories.

I love anything creative. There is just something about taking a picture at the right moment that just defines the old cliche "a picture is worth a thousand words".. I love playing with the equipment and messing with lenses, lighting, all that boring stuff

I like to frame things, placing things in/out of context, putting more/less attention to certain elements.

I'm the kind of photographer that always tries those strange angels, constantly plays with the zoom, moves aside & climbs on things, just to get the perfect composition.

One of the things I like is seeing something and capturing an image in a way that conveys the emotion that one had at the moment of taking the picture.

It can be a moment, a specific angle on something (or someone) everybody has seen.

2 Reasons:

1. To capture those special moments. Then you can look back and just smile.
2. Some shots you take can look amazing. Especially with things like nature. I have seen some amazing pictures of clouds taken right outside my house.

most of my photos are nature related, which means they may well be once in a life time moments. photography captures themand allows you reminiss and show others things which people might never belive otherwise!
