    how to insert the data into the MS Access database using Visual Basic

    Hello all,

    I want to insert the data into the MS Access Database using Visual Basic 6.0.

    Anybody please heplp me to tell the steps to insert the data into the database.

    Moved to Classic ASP as this is closer to that than to VB.NET.

    Anyhow, the short answer is that you need to use Data Access Objects (DAO) to create a connection and a command, then execute said command. Someone here can probably give a more fleshed out example.

    hello,
    Thanks for the answer ,I have just completed the insertion of data.

    I am using directly the MSAccess database forms which uses the VB code .

    Now I want to know, how to get the option button value when it is checked.

    I have checked it out , it is not having any property from which I get that option button is checked or not.

    So, how should I check whether the option button is checked or not in the MS Access database forms which uses VB for coding?

    oh so you're doing VBA inside of Access. if i remember, you just check for a value. it's been so long since i've done any of that though...

    in your sub (could be the submit button on click sub), it's going to be something like myopt[x].checked. option buttons are generally part of an array, so you have to get them by their index number (x being the index of the option button). it might return true or false. but like i said, it's been a while...
