Hi there,

I'm taking a brief look into GTalks JavaScript and the technology behind it. I'm basically trying to write an application that connects to GTalk and lists communication data. I've been researching JSJaC and other libraries that do this but they aren't really what I want.

I'm looking for a JS library that does direct communication with googles chat server and shares information. With JSJaC they seem to be requesting that I use HTTP-Bind or HTTP-Poll which requires installation on a specific server or connection with a public server for communication to a Jabber client. I'm starting to think that a direct JavaScript to Gtalk server app is not possible but then I look at the gtalk gadget which you can install on any website (even locally). I'm just wondering how the heck they are able to do this.

Some insight from JS experts would be helpful. :-)
