    Batch Image Resize With GD

    Hi,

Does PHP and GD offer a way to take a bunch of jpgs, reduce them in size if they're currently larger than a certain size (and leave them if they're not), optimise the images for the web and then save them?

    Is this possible?
Is the resulting quality/compression as good a Photoshop's "Save for Web"?
How do I go about doing it with GD?

    Thanks.

If not GD is there another way in Photoshop perhaps? Or some other smaller standalone app?

This is possible from GD too but i am not sure how much quality you want. I don't say that the picture quality will be the best and good in comparision with photoshop's one, but you can do it. If you need i have a simple class for resizing the images as well as creating new thumbnails too.

Yes you can use ImageMagick but you have to install it in your server and of course in your system for testing.
Mistakes are proof that you are trying.....
