    Glass Lemon

The sun was shining into the window right now, strong. So there was a lot of contrast. I have a pile of glass fruit, the lemon seemed just right for this weeks theme

    Yellow for Success

These flowers were given to me by a lady originally from Hong Kong. She and her family now live here and have a Chinese restaurant that is my father's favorite place to eat. She said that yellow is a symbol for success in China.

They were very difficult to photograph.

What a coincidence that we both have taken glass as a subject matter Those are pretty flowers, surely.

Thanks, although they may actually be plastic.

That pic is old, I think I'll try this weekend to get a better pic. I've worked a lot on photography since I did that pic.

    In My Studio

Just thought a bunch of yellow things in my studio would be interesting, The bottles are filled with shades of yellow. In the cup you see what looks orange/red, that is yellow dye, the colors look very different in their raw state. This is dye for silks, and without my trusted gloves I could not work in this medium. Those are protein dyes, a little on the skin goes a long way!

That Eagle is wonderful. The Bald Eagle is probably my favorite animal.

Yeah it is really cool. I used to live out your way in Olympia and lived right by a river. We would regularly see the bald eagles just flying around. They are amazing in person.

    That eagle photo is splendid

We have ospreys here, they are almost as majestic as the eagles.

This is a bouquet of shell flowers, a precious antique, made from the naturally yellow *Baby Foot Shells*
Each shell has a white part in the middle that looks like the imprint of the foot of a baby, hence the name.

Thank you, surelybwh. My Mother in Law left us this. She got this when she was young, so this is quite old and well preserved. These shells are much rarer now, we still find them, but they seem to be more brittle and smaller. We cherish this bouquet

Hong Kong Dan, I don't live there but have visited a few times. It's a great city, the architecture is designed with Feng Shui in mind, thus all the buildings have their own 'thing' which supposedly wards off bad vibes.
The towers you mentioned are called the koala buildings by expats living locally, though I forget what their real name is. The other is called the golden/dragon's tooth.
