which forum software do you recommend
I recently came across
http://www.simplemachines.org/
and of course the new release ( ver. 3 ) for phpbb.com
I use vBulletin but I dont want to pay for another version.
So which do you recommend I use? Or is there another one you prefer?
I use PhP5.

I recommend PunBB. Very fast, lightweight and simple to use and administer.

I have always used phpBB, but just looked punBB and it looks quite good. I will try to install it now.

phpBB, PunBB, and SMF are all great free forums, especially if you are looking for something simple. If you want a lot of features, I would recommend Invision Power Board: http://community.ipslink.com/board/

SMF is a great free forum. It really depends on what you need but I have used punbb, smf, phpbb. If you need to explore the specs and features a bit to help make a decision as to what is the best forum software, i suggest forummatrix.org
