Question about credit card

I have not tried this before and have not read it from any articles before either. This may sound dumb question....

Would you know if I could accept payment using a credit card from my advertisers? I know big shot websites use this of course.

Is this a good idea specially if my targetted advertiser is an individual not a company?

It's a good idea if you're starting to make a serious amount of money from your site. http://www.verisign.com is probably considered the dominator of this market and (from what I hear) quite reliable.

I have personally used ClickBank to process my advertisers credit cards. You do not need a merchant account and they charge a one-time small set-up fee (under $50). They do take a little more out from your sales (7.5% and $1 per transaction).

During my time with them, I have always received payment ontime and they have been 100% reliable. They are a great service for small businesses.

Another great benefit from Clickbank, is that they allow you to set up an affiliate program for free. Plus they add your program to their marketplace.
