How to make your own googlebar
Is anyone familiar with building their own 'google'bar
only customized to their own site? Is there software to
achieve this?
Thanks,

we have discusd this topic before and we raised a few good questions. such as what "service" would your toolbar provide to your users that would make them want to download it.
this thread contains several links to providers of toolbar software.
there was also another thread but i cant find it at ;0(

I actually have nearly fully developed software that does this written in VB 6. A lot of the interfacing code is based on publicly available code, but a lot of it is all mine. It really is a pain to make because its all run under IE. I had a lot of weird problems that still remain unsolved (I stopped working on it long ago).
For instance, no matter what, I could never get it to be on its own line, IE would auto place it at the end of the last line. Also, the backspace doesn't work becuase you have to somehow communicate with IE to detect it (all other keys work). Its really more trouble than its worth. And like iTec said, your bar would need to be better and more useful that the others (Hotbar, Google, Yahoo, etc...).
