PHP files

If I am working on a site where alot of the pages use PHP but not actually all of them. Is there any downside to just saving every page as a PHP file?

You will use a bit more CPU because the PHP parser will still try to read each page as it is requested. This will also mean slightly slower loading. I would say just leave them as .html.

If you see an upside in keeping the .php extension, let me know because I am sure there is a better workaround.
