    My shortlist

    Hi,
I have a problem with "my shortlist' for the last 2 days, it does not show up. I am clicking it and the only thing going on is the loading icon. How can I get it fixed?
I am using Firefox as a browser and I don't want to change that. Ah, and before this occurred, it was always loading so slow.
Thank you in advance for any kind of help.

The server needs to be upgraded. I hope this is at least ran on an independent server, that is...

Sitepoint is growing, and its performances is weakening. It needs an upgrade...

Slow for me as well, but if you are using Firefox, here's a trick. Open it in a new tab...it loads MUCH more quickly AND you can keep it open if you want to check out multiple contests.

I know they are working on changes for the Marketplace so perhaps this is one of them.

The dev team (of which I am one) have just returned from an intense 9 day coding marathon in which we finished the vast majority of the new code base. We're back in the office in about 8 hours and I'll make sure we look at this first thing.

As for improvements in this area, we've got it sorted. The JavaScript dialog window used for shortlist management always bugged me, so with the talented assistance of brothercake I threw together "My Marketplace", a central location for managing your Shortlist, Listing Subscriptions, and watching the status of any Auctions you're running or have bid on. We've put together an equivalent "My Contests", containing your Contests shortlist, subscriptions and Contests you're holding or have entered.

We're entering the Quality Assurance process at the end of the week, so a concrete go-live date is edging closer at a rapid rate

GHOwner: Contests and Marketplace are not moving to a bigger server, they're moving to an entirely new clustered environment, with both applications rewritten to take advantage of multiple application servers, shared filesystem and shared objects in a memory cache. Our new infrastructure is modeled on that of LiveJournal, with the main difference being that our web-apps are written in PHP whilst theirs are in Perl.

Thank you. Hopefully this will speed things up as the areas currently load slower than dial up (and yes, I do check my current speed and visit other websites to see if it is my connection, but it isn't).

I really love this place, I just hope this new step helps keep speed.
