    Framework Placement ??

    Hi:

I have decided to use Symfony framework in my project(s). Now, I am trying to decide where to place my framework.

I have to consider following points:
    1) I'll have MORE than 1 project.
    2) Every Project will have MORE than 1 MODULES (here I am calling specific parts of a projects a module)
    3) Every module in itself is a complete application developed one at a time

So, in end I have something like this on my webserver:

    HTML Code:
    WEBROOT
                 PROJECT #1
                              Module #1
                              Module #2
                              ..............
                              Module #N
                 PROJECT #2
                              Module #1
                              Module #2
                              ..............
                              Module #N
                 ................
                 PROJECT #N
                              Module #1
                              Module #2
                              ..............
                              Module #N
Now, where should i put my framework.
    1) at WEBROOT??
    2) at PROJECT #N ??
    3) at Module #N ??

Right now I have decided to put at WEBROOT, so if i have updates i only have to update once. But, it might cause problems which I am not aware of. That's why i want to make sure I am doing the right thing.

    Please suggest.

I think you will have a separate symfony installation for each project.

As I have access to the whole server, I put the project files underneath a user so my developer could log in securely.

    /home/user/svn - for subversion
    /home/user/svn/project1
    /home/user/svn/project2
    /home/user/project1
    /home/user/project1/apps
    /home/user/project1/batch
    /home/user/project1/cache (etc etc)
    /home/user/project2

    Hope this helps.

The way this server is designed that whoever will be the programmer will be able to manage whole server. he will have complete access to server.

But, i see where you are getting at. i just wanted to have one set of files to be used by all rather than have copies for different project.
