Transferred DB, now passwords not working..

    Hey all,

We just switched hosting companies and transferred 3 of our DB's from the old server to the new. Everything seemed to go alright. Our sites are reading from the DB's however none of the users from our DB can log into the website.

When a user signs up to the site we use the MYSQL PASSWORD() function to enter the users passwords into the DB.

    Hope someone can help.

    Thanks.

Do you mean you are creating mysql user accounts for them? If so I'll wager you were using an older version of mysql and should be using OLD_PASSWORD() to set their passwords.

If you mean in a more general sense (i.e. a password to log in to your website, like sitepoint for instance), then you should not be using PASSWORD at all to set user passwords. MySQL manual even advises against this. You should be using SHA1 to hash user passwords.
