    Hi
I want to register a domain for future use, although I may not be using it right away. The cheapest I have found up to now is TotalNic. http://www.TotalNIC.net/
Can anyone advice me if this is a good price. Also, I wouldn't need to pay for name servers etc would I? (Like you have to with Joker).
    Comments much appreciated!

    I would recommend www.vservers.com
You can park it there for free as long as you need. I switched between several hosting companies to save a few bucks and ended coming back to Vservers.

    IMHO,

    there's 000domains.com at 13.50 a year

    and spyproductions.com at 17.50 a year.

I've used totalnic.net quite a few times in the past, but their interface is extremely lacking and updating the DNS is hell...It made me think, "hey having a user name and password to manage my accounts is worth the extra bucks at spyproductions."

I just found 000domains.com and haven't had time to evaluate their service.

$12 per year and you can register for one year instead of too.

Yeah I have known about Joker for a while but their site is really confusing. It seems I have to provide nameservers when I register yet if I am not planning on hosting the site I have no nameservers so does this mean I have to hire their own ones?

stay away from 123domains.com - i mean the owner and service are good, but the fine print states that domains registered with them must remain with them for another 3 yrs after the initial 2 yrs...

i didn't read that and bought 3 domains from them...

I since then use 000domains.com and bought 3 other domains and they are good with the domain manager panel for use... at $13.50/yr I think they are the cheapest for 1 yr only registrations...

    First of all, Network Solutions...
    They're expensive
    They have bad support

Friends don't let friends register domains with Netsol.

    Anyways...
I use TotalNIC.net and I've found it to be my favorite. I've registered one domain with them--it would've been two except for a small (or big...?) error that occurred. It said that a domain 'aspology.com' was registered, but every other place said it was available. I had to register with a (rather cryptic) NameSecure.com.

    Here's my ratings:
    1. TotalNIC (1dmn)
    2. NameSecure (1dmn)
    3. NetSol (3dmns)

    ------------------
Think you're running the server "is 5" and an Asp is only a snake? Get with the times!
    Active Server Pages dominate.
    Soon to come: Aspology.com
