    WCAG 2.0 still unusable?

When it first came out the WCAG 2.0 guideline got a bit of a roasting in a lot quarters.

With the recent move to candidate recommendation, some accessibility advocates have reassessed 2.0 and found it to be much better than before.

It seems that some still aren't so sure though: http://www.alistapart.com/articles/testability

i for one found the article interesting, but quite unfocussed. particularly gian's use of the WCAG+Samurai as a model of how to do things better seemed strange to me, since the Samurai has the same fundamental lack of guidelines/checkpoints relating to cognitive disabilities, as well as currently quite vague points which yes aren't testable in the WCAG 2 sense, but also far from clear and certainly open to debate.

the discussion on the article over at ALA is quite interesting...maybe even more so than the article itself. i've also summed up my thoughts here http://accessify.com/news/2007/06/gi...f-testability/
