    SMTP relay service

Anyone know of a good place to do SMTP relaying through?

We have legitimate clean email that we need to send for my site that gets filtered as junk mail for the major free email services (Hotmail, Yahoo mail, AOL mail, etc.). Unfortunatley it is legitimate email that needs to get through to the end user to register their account.

Right now we use the free 250 smtp relays per day that come with our free GoDaddy hosting account but we are quickly approaching the need to send more than 250 a day and GoDaddy charges a healthy amount for more than 250 a day.

Anyone know of a good economical SMTP relay service?

The most likely reason they are not getting through, is that the GoDaddy IPs have been blacklisted - this is usually down to a hosts users sending lots of spam and them doing nothing about it, which is never a good sign.

As a mail server owner I would like to add, that opening smtp is quite a risk. You may end up blacklisted and loosening your server's credibility.

Sorry if I wasn't clearer with my initial post...

The GoDaddy servers work great, we are able to relay through them just fine but they are a bit expensive so I am looking for something cheaper.

I'm not asking for an open mail relay to route my mail or for someone to point me to an open relay... I'm after a service that I would pay $$$ to in order to relay legitimate mail through.

Does anyone know of anything good for that?

Don't worry, I knew what you were asking for, just saying, that if you're finding that it is getting filtered by all the major players, then the current mail server is most likely in a lot of black lists.

http://www.netatlantic.com/ will host your list for you. I believe they are white listed at the major ISPs.

Not cheap, from what I've heard.

As far as I know myriadnetwork.com provides SMTP service. It cost $80 per year for 500 MB.

Why do you think like that? Do you think that myriadnetwork.com won't suit for this purpose?

A couple tousand a day more than likely. Initially it will be only a few hundred but I anticipate after 3-4 months it will be around a few thousand a day.

Without using a newsletter/mailing list, it will be tough to find an SMTP that will let you push through that much email traffic.
