I was wondering if you think 2000+ a month hits is good for a site that hasn't had any real advertising and is not in any SEs?
I'm in the process of creating a new site at webmasterswork.com and have received the above amount of hits without advertising it.
Is this simply due to the domain name?
I had a previous site at www.resources-webmasters.com but never came close to this amount of hits even with lots of advertising and submitting to SEs. Any ideas on this?

I could be a little off-base here, but I would be a little embarassed coming to "webmaster-resources" to ask a question about "resources-webmasters", if you know what I mean.
I would look at it as a sign that you picked a good domain name that people just type in. Are the majority of your referrers are "Bookmark" which is either a bookmark or the address bar in a web browser? If not look at where they are coming from. Maybe you were indexed nicely one night while you where asleep.
