I am trying to design a backend system that has drop down menus that you can select say "Day" Day 1, Day 2 etc. and than another field to have "date" than a drop down to select "golf" "sightseeing" and "hotel" at the moment I have something like this;

PHP Code:
<?php
        $query
"SELECT id, title FROM category WHERE cat_group = '1' ORDER BY id ASC";

$selectname "category";
        if(
$_POST['1']){

$selected_value $_POST['1'];
        } else {

$selected_value $row['category'];
        }

selectmenu($selected_value,$query,$selectname); ?></td>
    <td><input type="hidden" name="Date" value="<%=dteDate%>">
    <input name="showDate" type="text" style="width:200; position:absolute;" value="<%=dteShowDate%>" onClick="if(self.gfPop)gfPop.fPopRLCalendar(document.frm.Date,null,null,document.frm.showDate,null);return false;" readonly="true">
    <a href="#" onClick="if(self.gfPop)gfPop.fPopRLCalendar(document.frm.Date,null,null,document.frm.showDate,null);return false;"  title="Click to open calendar">&nbsp;<img src="images/iconCalendar.gif" width="16" height="13" border="0" style="position:relative; left:182; top:2; z-index:10;" />&nbsp;</td>
    <td><?php
        $query
"SELECT id, title FROM category WHERE cat_group = '2' ORDER BY id ASC";

$selectname "golf";
        if(
$_POST['2']){

$selected_value $_POST['2'];
        } else {

$selected_value $row['golf'];
        }

selectmenu($selected_value,$query,$selectname); ?></td>
    <td><?php
        $query
"SELECT id, title FROM category WHERE cat_group = '3' ORDER BY id ASC";

$selectname "sightseeing";
        if(
$_POST['3']){

$selected_value $_POST['3'];
        } else {

$selected_value $row['sightseeing'];
        }

selectmenu($selected_value,$query,$selectname); ?></td>
    <td><?php
        $query
"SELECT id, title FROM category WHERE cat_group = '4' ORDER BY id ASC";

$selectname "hotel";
        if(
$_POST['4']){

$selected_value $_POST['4'];
        } else {

$selected_value $row['hotel'];
        }

selectmenu($selected_value,$query,$selectname); ?>
But the problem is the description is too long in the drop down menus? should I have the drop downs as titles and than somehow have it so that when the title is selected in the dropdown it than adds auotmatically somewhere below the extra description?

Help appreciated
