    GD generating nice pretty images

    Hi,

I haven't used PHP and the GD image library before for image manipulation or creation.
Just wondering if it can do what I am hoping it can, looking to those who have used it or know what it can do..

Could it create an image exactly like this?
    http://www.swinburne.edu.au/images/banner_andy.gif

Would it be possible to provide a predefined .png and only edit the text within it.

What about fonts, how can you set it up for a particular font and font-size?
Even shrink the size of the text if there is too much of it - and even break onto multiple lines -This part could be done using special characters in the form like:

Text: Hello World[br]I'm on a second Line!
    Background Color: #xxxxx

Is this possible, or am I just dreaming...

    Thanks,

Yes, it's all possible. The available functions in the GD library are documented on the http://php.net website. Bumping your post simply removes it from the "unanswered topics" list so that people looking to help no longer know you need it.

You found it but point taken..

Thanks, sounds like a very good option for what I have in mind.
