Uploading and retrieving files from a seperate server

We have second server that we would like to serve our videos and images from. I'm not entirely sure though how to handle the upload process to move them over to the other server, or how to link to those files. Can anyone provide any help or links to guides on this?

FTP, rsync, scp, or even cURL an HTTP POST to the other server to get the files there. To serve them from that server, you need to run another web server, and put the files in a web accessible folder just like your primary site.

The files are basically just images, what would be the simplest way to upload them to the main server, then move it over to the new folder?

cURL is such a wonderful tool.

i used them in 2 diff projects:

    1. grab a single jpeg from a webcam that only had streaming.
    2. grab files from another webserver at work that wasnt too friendly to me...

in the end cURL saved my butt...
