    Where's my favicon in IE?

I am designing a site and the customer wants me to add a favicon.

It appears ok in Firefox but doesn't show up in IE7. Looked through a number of tutorials and troubleshooting stuff which I have followed but nothing seems to work.

Can anyone help? Page can be viewed here: http://demo.elucid8web.com/trentham/

    Thanks.

I see you've created the favico by saving an image as a bitmap image (bmp) and by just setting the extension to .ico.
Unfortunately that won't work in IE7 and a number of other browsers.

If you compare a real icon with it's bitmap image in a hex-editor, you'll see dozens of differences.

You can download your favico saved as a real ico-file here: http://www.fish4code.net/threntham.ico

Save it as a proper .ico file. Any software that can create icons can do that.

See http://www.favicon.com/ for more info on how to create a proper favicon.ico file.
