Alright, this could be any kind of sign! A road sign, a billboard, any kind of sign. It can be your ordinary run of the mill street sign or something that you loved the advertisement or color in.
Here's one I thought was hilarious (and so did my kids) where we were hiking in Germany last month.

These are signs at our fire station: People in danger, like battered wives, can go there and find protection. They will be brought to a safe house to get away. Middle one: Woman can go there if they have delivered a baby that they do not want. They can just leave it there and will not be prosecuted. No questions asked. The babies will be then put up for adaption.

I call these signs: Bureau-Graphics. Those guys have no sensitivities what - so - ever!

The first is a manatee, that funny "mermaid" creature here in the Florida waters. The middle one is for the evacuation when hurricanes hit. The third is a sign in a little motel's parking lot.

I am going out now to get some shots, very nice actually, the only problem I have is that it is getting hot now again and the light in the evening is not so nice and bright. Not always bad of course, have to get more advanced in my approach I guess. Which in turn makes me use the camera better. I am not much into this kind of picture taking, more closeups and stuff for my work.
But, just another thing to put on my *LEARN* list.
I love your B&W photos, always had a love for them.

I think I took about 20 pictures today, just for this week, all in a radius of about 1/2 mile, in about 30 minutes. It was really nice out this morning - we were supposed to have rather cold, rainy weather, it was warm and sunny! I stepped in a big mud puddle though in sandals, and stupid me, not caring about the faux pas of it all, was wearing socks to keep my feet a bit warmer. They're brown socks now!
It was interesting in how one could perceive the word "sign", and I was thinking of this as I was snapping away. It was a "sign" from God! "Sign" can be synonymous with "Symbol" in many contexts, and symbolism is seen everywhere. I'll post some of my pictures later on, after I shower and do some cleanup around this place.
How do you all handle your uploads? Do you use a free online storage, or do you use your own webspace? If you use your own web space, do you have something set up to manage the images, or do you just upload 'em to a named folder (like Datura does)?

Well, I guess I have two methods on my own webspace, I will eventually get rid of one. I am currently experimenting with coppermine, just to see what it can do. I also have my photosite and just link directly to the photos.
A lot of people that I have seen on fark.com use either imageshack.us or flickr.com. Since I have always just had my own sites (as humble as they are) I haven't had much experiance with these other hosting sites. BTW both are free to use.

Boy oh Boy, talk about an over-abundance of signs around me! Funny thing is, I never even noticed half of these (awww, and Photoshop removed my EXIF info, and lost some clarity!)...

I cringe whenever I see blatant spelling errors in signs. If you're going to invest the money in a large sign, not finding out what the correct spelling is defies logic, even if it's in a foreign language. Somewhere near the centre of Cuzco, Peru:
