That's strange. There is no function called mysql() in PHP.

maybe you should check your function name. maybe you meant mysql_connect()

Yes it would be better to post bit of code where the error is. I think there must be given some line number where the error is. So please try to post the bit of code not whole code,then the experts of here can suggest you.
Mistakes are proof that you are trying.....

the bad news is that the script is encoded, except for the conf file witch its not the issue here......when i down grade it works fine .....but i need to upgrade due to other reaons

If the files are encoded there there is very little we can do to help you. You should contact the people who made the script. Or downgrade.
