Slideshow loading from a directory

I googled around but couldn't find a Javascript to automatically load images from a directory and show them as an automatic slideshow.

Could you clarify exactly what you mean by that?
If you mean load all the images present in a folder without being told their names, that may be possible by loading a directory listing into an iframe then parsing the names, but it's more easily done on the server.
Then all you need is a competent JavaScript that can create a slideshow from a single function call, which is no problem.
