Loading slowness
Anyone else having problems with the sitepoint pages opening up slowly over the last few days ??Maybe it's the bad weather we are experiencing here <lol> but it seems to take forever to go from one post to another or from one forum to another ??

I haven't had any problems lately. It might be the ISP issue?

Really weird. It can't be an ISP issue - I've no problems with loading any other sites

yes, the horrid weather up and down the east coast of AU - but much much worse in the Newcastle area ( a few hours north of me) - where $million worth of damage so far, and where that ship is stranded right off the landline. Incredible ! Lots of experts being flown in to ensure there is not going to be any sort of oil spillage as a consequence. Also a family of 5 lost due to a road giving way underneath them
Hopefully the slowliness may improve tomorrow... I've giving up tonight - it's just way too slow waiting for posts to load - the Marketplace is especially slow I must say :\

I think someone may need to remove a couple of my posts in the web design forum.... I replied to a post "table help", I hit the submit button only once (or so I believed), but it was taking over 5 minutes and the message didn't send, so I 'stopped' the browser. I submitted again, and waited again ! Then when I gave up, checked the thread, my post had gone through 3 times !! It was a rather long post, but shouldn't have happened anyway. I've edited 2 of the posts to remove all that long code, but would be an idea to maybe remove them anyway - looks like I was making way too much noise :-)
Now I'm definitely closing for the night..... I can't take any more :-)

So have I, but it's been on and off. Sometimes it's quite snappy, and sometimes it's like molasses.

I doubt that this could be attributed to the number of people on the forum at any given time, so what could be causing this? I thought sitepoint recently upgraded the hardware on their servers.

Slow....as usual. I'm used to it. Seems at least a couple times a day it takes too long to load any page...

Talking of lightening, a rod struck really near our apartment one lunchtime last week, it was so close that the snap and flash literally made me drop my sandwich and fall back into the armchair. I should mention that the window was open and I was sitting next to it....
loading is still pittifully slow, I even cleared my cache in the broswer to see if that sped things up. Nup.

There's a new server architecture in the works... we'll be blogging all about it beginning in July.
