Well, perhaps sad yes, but then songs are like fiction. I think it has a cool vibe.

Shuan, I was looking at that film you recomended - I am Legend? Well I saw the trailer and it does look a bit spooky, but then is there something more to it than it being another '28 days later' type film?

"28 Days Later" was just another typical zombie movie... it just took itself too seriously and convinced everyone else that is was artsy.

I hated it, by the way, and I usually love cheesey zombie movies.

"I Am Legend" is a horror. Plain and simple. It will make you cringe in your seat and not want to watch... and that's not even because of gore. There wasn't much gore and blood in it at all !!

It's just a good story that's really well told.

Stop looking at trailers... it will kill the surprise for you. You need to walk into the cinema not knowing what to expect.

    Just go see it. Fullstop.

I saw I Am Legend a couple of days ago... Still not sure if I liked it or not. It's certainly pretty jumpy at times and gives you plenty to think about afterwards. Will Smith is really good, and it's a very scary and realistic scenario... In fact just after we got back from the cinema we put on the TV and there was a report about some weird disease that's sweeping across the country here in the UK. They have had to close loads of hospital wards to try and contain the outbreak... Certainly brings it all quite close to home.

But back to the film, yep I guess it's pretty good. My girlfriend certainly liked it, but I'm a bit of a baby when it comes to scary films lol. Give me a good comedy any day!

I too hated 28 days later!! My main reason was that it started off well and ended up a farce. All that zomibe stuff was ridiculous.

Anyway, I'll go see IAL it sometime this week.

Do you ever get that feeling when seeing something absurd, or when something simply takes you by surprise, that you have an uncontrollable fit of laughter that keeps you chuckling for the rest of the day?

Yes! It is the nature of human mind -- surprise effect triggers laughter and the sense of hapiness. Many jokes are based on that. If you look at little children and babies, simple things amuse them, such as peek-a-boo for example, which is the same effect of surprise. As we grow, the knowledge we gain removes the surprise from many sitations -- we know what to expect. But still we often find unusual and surprising situations amusing. An amazing thing the human mind is.

I'm glad you asked Man, talk about baiting...

    lol

So I was reading a post by Ainslie X11 in the communities board here and he was listing some reasons behind a spammers motives and he posted this which cracked me up:

    - My sites get pulled down all the time and I get agro from all quarters.

It was the 'agro from all quarters' that really got me.. can't explain why, but then I've already qualified this as one of those obscure moments of hilarity.

    here's the thread: http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/showthread.php?t=444576

Gosh, I laugh like that all the time. Sometimes when you are in the company of others, a laughing avalanche starts. In the end you do not know why you laughed so in the first place. I love it.

    Nothing better than laughing tears

Indeed, it sometimes comes at the most inappropriate moments, which only serves to heighten the laughter.. Gotta keep that child alive inside

It's true that the humour of something is heightened when you are not supposed to be laughing - for me anyway. I remember being at a wedding once with tears rolling down my face, trying SOOOO hard not to laugh out loud the whole service because the Reverend's name was Reverend Death! It didn't help that my partner was the same and we couldn't look at each other! Very funny! Reminds me of that Seinfeld episode with the Pez dispenser.

Hahaha -- that reminds me of my wedding. The judge's name that married us was Judge Love. My husband and I just got into a laughing fit because we laughed about it before and both of us just had only to look at the other to start it up again. Hilarious

I remember going to a concert performing Vivaldi's Four Seasons with a friend. Once the pre-concert tension had built up and the chamber orchestra started we both cried with laughter, at the most innapropriate scene! Yet, i believe it was the combination of the pre-concert tension and the awesomeness of the music which made us find it amusing.

Another wedding we went to the groom had composed a love song to sing to his bride - nice in theory but it would have helped if he was a good singer! It was all a bit surreal and needless to say we struggled to keep our composure for most of the service!
