How do i capture a popup login username

    Hi all,

I have a website where the membersarea is password locked using the host's cPanel X. What i want to do is capture the username so once they have logged in the php page matches the username with the mysql database and retrieves there details. to view the login type goto https://www.smarttrax.biz/membersarea. can some one give me some code or advise on how to do this.

    thankyou.

    Hi Luigi
What you would need is a cookie based system to 'remember' the user and use the cookie to query the database.

    Off Topic:

Can you put your link into your sig and not into your posts directly?
Go To -> My Sitepoint in the menu bar at the top.

lol, always here to help. Have a good read through the php.net page I linked too and I should be back online later this evening.
There are loads of good (and bad) tutorials online. See if you can get one to work for you. It's not really that tricky but they dont taste as good as choc chip

It seems to me that you should be able to get the username through $_SERVER['PHP_AUTH_USER']
