    Some free PHP Editor ?

    Hi,

I am new to php, wanted to have some php editor. Like front page for html. Simple editor which lets me see page's preview before publishing. And visual edit mode.

    Regards,

I would suggest Jedit, it uses JRE and you can configure it to do a whole bunch of stuff. (and its free)

Notepad++ is my new personal favourite and low on ram usage. It does not have the stuff you are looking for though.

Dreamweaver sounds like it may be the best for you, but is not actually a free program.

Zend Platform, Komodo, PhpEd and Eclipse are some of the most developed IDEs for PHP. Eclipse is the only one, which is free, but the others are quite cheap.

You don't really want a visual editor, most of the time they're not accurate anyway.

If you're looking for something simple, I'd suggest notepad++.

What I'd love more than anything is the equivalent of Visual Studio for PHP, but there's nothing of the sort. Closest I've ever come is Eclipse, which I highly recommend.
