I absolutely love Opera when it comes to personal use - its more of an 'internet suite' than anything else; and I make good use of its built in mail client, IRC client, widgets and download manager. As far as speed and reliability go, its second to none in my opinions.

Its major downside as far as I can see is a lack of widespread support. IE is still the most used browser, followed way back by Firefox; Opera barely gets a look in - so of course when people are developing sites, the order of priority in terms of browser compatibility obviously follows suit - so more often than not if I have a problem viewing a site in any browser, its Opera.

I'm guilty of the same thing when designing and developing, because obviously i'm more concerned with producing something that works well in the browser my visitors are using than in the one that I use - so while I despise IE, it takes number one priority when designing.

I do have to admit, however, that ever since I first download FF the only addons i've had for it were the pagerank viewer and the stumbleupon toolbar - so maybe i'm "missing out" on a something there.

I had the opportunity to try out Opera, it was a few months back, first I downloaded it, going through a lot of issues with their main web site, I finally managed to download their browser, having a look, there were some neat features in there, and most of them were user friendly.

A big disadvantage was, I was having issues with the average web site speed, every web site was loading very slow, I don't know if it was a issue with the PC I was running back then, or was it simply the browser?

Well, I'm currently using Internet Explorer 7 on my Windows Vista machine, and works smooth, haven't even thought of changing to any other browser.

A very good question given that Opera is closer to the standards than either browser they are using. Perhaps they like using proprietary tags that standard compliant browsers don't support.

Yes well many of the really good features built in to Opera show up as Firefox extensions eventually.

I'd always prefer Firefox. I am using more than 10 plugins for my everyday work, they are not available within Chrome, Opera, etc.
