    Positioning Banner in Header

    I am trying to position my ad banner in the header of my site. Everything works fine in firefox but then I checked it in IE7 and I noticed a whitespace around the banner - http://www.chartsetups.com

    Anyone have any suggestions for how to get rid of this whitespace around the banner?

    Heres my existing code as is:

    <div class="header">
    <div class="TopMenu">
    %%Panel_SiteMenuPanel%%
    </div>
    <img class="logo" src="http://www.chartsetups.com/templates/Default/Images/logo.jpg" alt="ChartSetups.com" />

    <iframe src="http://content.tradeking.com/refer/banner?id=23&key_code=TKchartsetups" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" IMG STYLE="position:absolute; TOP:30px; LEFT:420px; WIDTH:468px; HEIGHT:60px" width="468" height="60">
    <a href="http://content.tradeking.com/refer/banner_click?id=23&key_code=TKchartsetups" target="_top">
    <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="http://content.tradeking.com/refer/banner_image?id=23&key_code=TKchartsetups" width="468" height="60">
    <param name="movie" value="http://content.tradeking.com/refer/banner_image?id=23&key_code=TKchartsetups" />
    <param name="flashvars" value="clickTAG=http%3A%2F%2Fcontent.tradeking.com%2Frefer%2Fbanner_click%3Fid%3D23%26key_code%3DTKchartsetups&clickTARGET=_blank" />
    </object>
    </a>
    </iframe>

    <div id="menu">
    <img src="http://www.chartsetups.com/templates/Default/Images/menu-front-cap.gif" alt="front cap" />
    <div class="menuBg">
    <ul>
    %%SNIPPET_MenuLinks%%
    </ul>
    </div>
    <img src="http://www.chartsetups.com/templates/Default/Images/menu-cap.gif" alt="end cap" />
    </div>
    </div>

    No whitespace in IE7 here, except for the 1px on the left side of the vertical scrollbar that is, by the way, always white and is a part of the scrollbar.

    Yep, a friendly sitepoint user saw my post and helped me fix the problem before you saw the site... thanks for taking a look though!

    Hmm, now I'm running into another problem - my header got moved down a line in IE 7 only for my blogs section. EX: http://www.chartsetups.com/blogs/20/...spot-Play.html

    interestingly enough the blogs category posts are the only pages that send the header down - the rest of the site is fine!

    Any ideas?

    I see an end tag for an unordered list too many.
    Try validating your page.

    This is driving me insane lol - IE 7 moves the header down one line messing up my entire menu for the blogs section but the rest of the pages work fine - only blog posts get messed up!

    I have checked the code and validated it - everything is fine - There has to be something im missing.....

    no worries calven, im not a moderator anyway... but your problems seem to relate to html/css, which there is a forum specifically for. The members over there are mostly freakily good at those topics, so its the best place to ask.

    the "web page design" forum has the sub categories "HTML", "CSS", and "usability".

    I don't think you can transfer the post though you need to get a moderator to do it.
