    IE6 adding extra width to container

    Hi!

    I'm totally stumped. It's late, deadlines is fast approaching, the project is ready to go live and one thing is stopping us - IE6 is adding some extra width (or something) to the main container element.

    I have been tweaking the CSS for the last couple of hours and nothing is working. I think I've been looking at the whole thing for too long and need some fresh eyes to take a look.

    Example Display: http://www.tcdadmin.com.au/index2.php

    CSS: http://www.tcdadmin.com.au/styles/screen.css

    It works fine in Firefox, IE7 and on the Mac (last time I checked) - it just seems to be IE6.

    Does anybody have a solution?

    To both the #left and #right divs css, add display: inline; - you have triggered IE6's double float margin bug.

    Looks identical to me in both FF and IE6 except the registration drop down is not wide enough and "For Candidates" is wrapping causing the word "Candidate" to drop off the background. Increase the width as indicated
    #container ul#navigation li li.employers, #container ul#navigation li li.candidates {
    width: 140px;
    }
    That should take care of the drop down.

    Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

    That did the trick...always something simple, isn't it?

    Thanks for the heads-up on that one, hadn't noticed it. I think it's a font issue, hence why I can't pick it up. Will adjust the width as suggested.
