    Question loading issue

    Hi
    Not sure if this is the best place for this query or not.
    What I'm looking for is some code that I can use on a layer.
    Basically I want to show the layer when the page is first opened and when the page has fully loaded hide it again.

    The reason for this is that the page in question is taking longer than I'd like to load in the data but its alot of calculations etc on other servers and i can't do anything about the time it's taking. So this is basically so I can show the user a msg to let them know that the site is dealing with their query and not broken.

    If anyone has any ideas or can point me in the right direction with this one it'd be brilliant.

    Thanks

    Put a div-tag as the first rule in the body, put some CSS in it so it would center on the screen immediately. Then, after the page has loaded you can use JavaScript to make the layer to disappear. Google for the addEvent function by Scott Andrew to set document.getElementsbyTagName('div')[0].style.display = 'none';

    I wouldn't recommend it though, some people disable JavaScript...
    What kind of data do you need to load or process?
