vertical sliding doors image menu with sublinks not quite right...

Have actually used span tags for sorting out this problem...but still have issues as written in post no. 3...

    Hi,

    I have a menu here
and i need the top level and sublinks disabled when the user accesses them.
In the above example the top level link is disabled but because i have styled the a: links on the sublevels, disabling them means losing the styling.
What's the best way to go about this?
Should i set the whole menu up differently?
    Span tags?

Has anyone achieved a vertical image based multi-level menu which expands well?

    Thanks for any advice.

You need to use span tags yes. No way around it.

    Hi,

    well i thought i had sorted out this menu issue...but i haven't.

Basically it's at the point where the user can click on each level and these levels are then highlighted and no longer clickable...but this is wrong...they do need to be clickable. In the link above (in 1st post) level 3 is showing as the chosen link but level 2 still need to be in their highlighted form but clickable.

    Does that make sense?
Apologies for over use of the word 'clickable'.

    Any help very much appreciated.
