Graphing on the FLy with SVG/Flex/ etc

    Hi Guys!

Since my future web development task will include the plotting of graphs, id like to read further on these technologies. Currently we are displaying images of graphs, but we would like people to be able to avail of a more dynamic graphing capability. I have seen flex samples, really promising, but i dont know how complex will the programming be. I also heard of this SVG that is somewhat builtin in some browsers like Firefox?

can anyone of you share anything about the topic? or can you suggest tutorial links for me so i can accomplish this. I am a descent PHP programmer, no ajax experience.

Any opinion or idea will be much appreciated! Thanks!

Doesn't use Flash/Flex or any fancy animation (creates static files) but I've always used JPGraph, it's free and provides a lot of functionality.

It's only free if you derive absolutely no commercial benefit from the site it's used on.

Where do you see that? ezComponents is licensed under New BSD license.

I replied to stardust's recommendation of JPGraph.

If you plan on using JpGraph in a commercial context you will need to acquire the professional license. Commercial use is for example if you use JpGraph on a site to provide a service for paying customers or for example if you are using JpGraph in an intranet to provide support for internal business processes, i.e. in benefit for a commercial company. In short, if you use JpGraph where you have an economic advantage (either through paying customers or improving internal business processes) this most likely falls under commercial use.

Oh, sorry about that guys, only ever used it on a few personal projects, forgot it wasn't free for commercial use. Thanks for the EZComponents link kyberfabrikken, looks promising.
