    Weekly Photo Challenge - Relaxation

This weeks theme is a little more abstract than last week's so get your imaginations going!

    Theme: Relaxation

This is something that will probably be different for all of us. Something to remember is you don't want to show identifiable photos of other people unless you make sure to have that person's permission! This will definitely be a good one!

IANAL, so please take this with a large grain of salt: but as far as I know people in public places are fair game for photos. This is especially true at public events (i.e., parades), but might be less so for children. Also, this may not apply outside of the US (check local laws -- it may not even apply inside the US, since, as I said: I am not a lawyer).

But my best friend is a photojournalist, and I know he does not need to get signed consent for every photo the takes of a person out in public for the newspaper.

That is eerily similar to a conversation I just had with the head honcho boss (Library Directory -- I work at a library). Newspaper photojournalists do not get consent for photographs when taken in a public place. If they wish to use the person's name(s) however, that is completely different. Asking for permission is a professional courtesy.
They say, "Practice makes perfect," yet they also say, "Nobody's perfect". I don't get it.

For now this is my cat as well. We have smoke from all the fires in this area, so photos will not be good, nor is it great to be outside.

    Good topic, relaxation is.

That's outside the Municipalidad (the town hall) of Barranco, the district of Lima I call home. Took it a bit over a year ago whilst out walking the dog:

    Our Beach This Morning

Ha, I finally got out this morning, the sky is still hazy, but acceptable. On our beach. I love the way the shadows are so crisp on our white sand.

Growing herbs to use in my cooking is very relaxing. Both activities give me immense pleasure and relaxation. This is how my herbs look today. Teas made from those herbs relax as well

    Hallo?

I guess I am one of the few people relaxing this week, I went out this afternoon to watch some guys catch some fish on the pier, which sticks out into Tampa Bay. At the end of the pier you can relax and eat some fried fish, just caught, and have a cool beer.

Love the pics! I hadn't captured anything all week and then last night I looked into my backyard and i was just kind of relaxing and I thought I should take a picture of what I see. I have cows for neighbors and I have adopted these cows. I feed them and play with them, they run to me. it's awesome. But anyway, I love to just sit outside and watch them. It is very relaxing. So here they are. My cows.

    All of them above!

Lovely Sara -- I love the cows. Wonderful creatures. Do you feed them? Their tongues are sooo raspy! Are those poppy flowers in the background?
    And the beer, yum.

I like subject matters that are not so concrete, more abstract and up to your own interpretation. It is also interesting to me how you can take something mundane and turn it into something so appropriate just by putting it into a different context.

Can hardly wait for the next one

The next one is up. There will be a good mix of concrete and abstract subject matters to try and challenge us. Even the most concrete object can be very abstract. it's all up to the photographer

Yes, those are poppies and yes I feed them. and there tongues are HUGE!
