    designquote.net

I keep seeing advertisements for www.designquote.net

In all honesty, the site is hard to take seriously given the design, but they seem to have a nice stream of potential job leads.

Anyone have experience with them or have feedback. I'm not crazy about having to pay for a lead, but marketing does have a cost, and if the leads are quality targeted and legit, I might take a further look.

    Thx

I read a thread on here awhile back about this site, on the face of it the site seams quite successful. I have even thought about possibility posting a project on there...

    Off Topic:

    From the front page:

    5998 Active Designers / 68 open projects
$72,738.90 worth of available projects today

Not a good ratio for the designers

I don't think paying a few quid for a lead is a bad thing if it's for a worthwhile opportunity, but I don't see anything of any quality on that site - I am of course referring to the proposed budgets, e.g. people wanting ecommerce sites for $250, CMS for $100 etc. Anyone from US, UK, Oz etc who would work for these kind of prices must be either desperate, insane or not actually a web developer at all.

Agreed, I took a look last night and most projects seem to be asking too much for the budget--but I'll keep an eye on it every so often.

I have tried to use that site to match designers with jobs (since we dont do design) and I never seem to get much return. A few vendors reply, but the quality wasn't that great. For a great vendor, it might work well.

What's the average price for a lead? Say, for a project around $1000.

I don't see that this site looks any different from RAC, scriptlance or other such sites.

Oh good grief --- I take it back! At this one you even have to purchase the right to quote the project. Yuk!

You have to pay for leads, but they dont take commission and you can keep the client for ever and you dont have to go back through the system.

A lot of small budget jobs, but there are also some decent paying gigs posted too. There is something like 100 leads posted each week.

If you read down to the comments, it seems that quite a few people have had bad experiences. Such as fake projects.
