Automatic Ping with Wordpress

How can I customize my wordpress.com-hosted wordpress to work with automatic ping services? I can't seem to find such an option in my Admin CP.

At the bottom of the Options -> Writing panel there's an input "Update Services". Just enter the URLs there.

It's not there. All I see is Size of post box, Formatting, Default Post category and Default Link category. Maybe it's different because I'm not self hosted?

I searched a bit on the WP forums. And found others that host on WP.com have had the same problem. It seems that WP uses Pingomatic that pings automatically for you.

We ping pingomatic and they send out notices to a number of services. if you look at pingomatic.com and click the common services option, you'll see who gets pinged.

Other than that, you could try Pingoat to ping others.
