    that is one of it's uses at the corporate level, building interfaces to databases.

    Connecting to a database with VB is simple.
    I would have to ask what the VB application does and why it would use a database.

    There is a big difference from using VB to access a database and ASP/PHP.
    Speed - cross platform - security - server efficiency. The list can go on
